Megan + Ike [a countryside wedding] Part II

Megan & Ike had a very intimate wedding located about 30 minutes north of Manhattan, Kansas. Their wedding took place in this cute old church (that isn’t in use anymore as far as I can tell) out in the middle of Manhattan’s beautiful countryside. All of the chairs and tables were already in the church beforehand…how perfect was that?! Following the wedding they had a cake and punch reception at the ceremony location.

After the ceremony and cake reception we had enough time to do a few photos of  the two of them at the church. After that we ended up going to their house to snap a few more intimate photos of the couple. (Like I said in the first post, their house was amazing! Perfect for photos!) A few hours later it was time to celebrate! They decided to do a large reception open to all of their friends and family later that evening at the Kat House in Aggieville.

Their wedding was a true example of ‘laid back’ and they had so many loved ones surrounding them. I have never photographed a wedding where the guests were so welcoming to me! Everyone was so kind and made me, as the photographer, feel as if I was just as important to them as the bride and groom. Usually I am a fly on the wall, but not at Megan & Ike’s wedding. It was such a wonderful experience to be a part of their wedding, and their wedding will always be one that sticks out to me. THANK YOU so much Megan & Ike for not only choosing me to photograph your wedding, but for becoming dear friends that I cannot wait to see again! You two are the kindest, most loving people I’ve met in a long time and I hope we can catch up soon!

  • Traci CrocoThese pictures are gorgeous!!!
What a beautiful wedding, amazing vintage style and so classic! It was captured really wonderfully 🙂

I’m going to be getting married very soon, and was wondering where this church was located, and if it might still be available for use or rental. Do you have any information on it, or other good historical or old style church buildings or prairie venues for weddings?

I’d appreciate any information you might be able to offer me! Thank you soooo much!
